Hollywood, CA – Mark Roman: Character, Podcaster, Subversive, Human

CHARACTER – Vegas 90210 street & stage character “Lt. Frank FFIREHS,” as discussed on Comedy Central, as hired for a CHP Lieutenant Promotion Luncheon and as seen in Hollywood & Las Vegas and at Beacher’s Madhouse and on TMZ.  A busker gig loosely based on Lt. Dangle of Reno 911! … that got out of hand.  Vegas tourists ask “How much?”.  Hollywood tourists ask “Which movie?”.  Tom Lennon and Nick Swardson ask “Can we?”.

PODCASTER – Mark Roman Empire (also a podcast).  Mark Roman. He puts the “I” in “improv”. This is his podcast: Slightly like WTF with Marc Maron. Hold the cats & garage. Add expelled student editors, subversives and SAG-AFTRA buskers.

WRITER – Wrote lines Hank Azaria spoke on camera for NBC prime time sitcom Free Agents.  Wrote poem “Son of Elmer Gantry’s Bitch.”  Founding Editor/Publisher of independent student newspaper The Hillsdale Spectator.  Created dialogue and character for Vegas 90210.  Tweets at @TheMarkRoman followed by Barack Obama, Thomas Lennon, Tom Cruise, SEGA, LA Times, Las Vegas Sun, Dana Carvey, Eddie James Olmos, E! COMIC – Writes & performs all material (often improv) for Vegas 90210.  Performed as Announcer and Guest Host of Grand Laughs Comedy Show Starring Paul Scally at the Downtown Grand Las Vegas.  Opened for stand up comic Lisa Landry.  Graduate of beginner and advanced courses in Stand Up Comedy at San Francisco Comedy College.  Podcaster.

ACTOR – mere background artist: cop, detective, period piece, dad, white collar types, as seen in such TV and film as The Dark Knight Rises, CSI, How I Met Your Mother, Californication and Mad Men (IMDb).  No formal or classical training.  Shakespeare read & watched, not acted.  Allergic to reality TV.  Acted as a Joel McHale type in Reality TV Movie.  Stand-in for Nicolas Cage.  See my looks and reel.  SAG-AFTRA.

SUBVERSIVE – Hillsdale College survivor.  Academic scholar & expelled student editor.  Like Abbie Hoffman, on the FBI’s Subversives List.  After a documented warning from Las Vegas Metro PD, my Vegas 90210 character now packs a banana, not a water pistol.  (Because that would be a misdemeanor.  And the terrorists would win.)

HUMAN – Connor’s Dad.  Eagle Scout.  Religion survivor.  Suicide ideation survivor.  Yet to be diagnosed PTSD survivor.  Recovering mortgage broker (not just a guy going down the elevator in The Big Short).  Former professional networking group founder.  Lower class working artist since 2008.  Creator of Heroteer.
